What this place is
2345 Harrison Street has a ring, rows of heavy bags and eighteen coaches on the floor. It has been owner-operated since 2014.

Eighteen coaches on the floor, including a USA Boxing national-title coach, a pro who has fought for a WBC international belt, and an NSCA-CSCS strength coach. Members name them individually in reviews, which is the tell.

Our own words for it, and the reviews back it up. Tough and empathetic trainers. Actually friendly, in a real way. Coaches who don't take themselves too seriously, even when you are getting a serious workout.

Simon Redmond moved from Dublin to San Francisco in 1996 and won the Nor Cal Golden Gloves at the Cow Palace in 1999. He opened Hit Fit SF in the Mission in 2014 and still co-leads the morning boot camps.

Morning boot camps run 6:00 to 7:15 AM and there are full restrooms and showers on site, so you can train, shower and get to the office. Quickies run 40 minutes end to end when that is all you have.
What we run
Every group class is non contact: you hit pads and heavy bags, never a person. A coach tells you when you are ready for the next level, so you never have to work it out yourself.

50 min · Non contact · No experience needed
Stance, guard, the jab, then real combinations on pads and bags. Level 1 assumes you have never boxed. Level 2 is where you go once a coach tells you you are ready.

50 min · Non contact · Level 2 and up
An old school, tough love boxing workout. Real combinations, authentic boxing, and strength and conditioning taught by real fighters. Jalen Clark runs the Friday 6pm intermediate session.

50 min and 40 min · All levels
Slam balls, dumbbells, kettlebells, battle ropes, sprints and bodyweight drills, programmed fresh every session. Quickies is the 40-minute version for a tight schedule.

Fight team · Members only
Train alongside our amateur fight team with Rob and Mario Fernandez. Speed bag, ring work, and the boxing basics from a coach who is also Northern California's number one USA Boxing matchmaker. Pricing is through the front desk.

6:00 to 7:15 AM · Mon to Fri · 4 weeks
Simon and Wayne co-lead it and roughly a third of our Google reviews are specifically about this. Striking, strength and conditioning, then the legendary Hill of Champions to finish. Members get $180 off.

Mon, Wed, Fri · 4:15 to 5:15 PM · Ages 8 to 16
Run by Robert Fernandez, who has produced numerous national champions. Sold on focus, confidence and discipline rather than fighting. $140 every 4 weeks plus a $75 enrollment fee.

Jeff started on the morning boot camps in August. In his own words, he has "without a doubt experienced a transformation in endurance, strength and overall well being."
He is not a fighter and never set out to be one. He is one of the people who come in before work, train for an hour and fifteen, shower on site and get to the office.
“Simon, Wayne and the whole team are great coaches. Funny, kind and super generous with their time and energy.”
- Jeff L., morning boot camp member. Google review.

Eighteen coaches work this floor, including a USA Boxing national-title coach and number one Northern California matchmaker, a pro who has fought for a WBC international title, a former USA Boxing fighter with over sixty fights, and an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Founded Hit Fit SF in the Mission, 2014
Simon moved from Dublin to San Francisco in 1996 and started fighting competitively here. He won the Nor Cal Golden Gloves at the Cow Palace in 1999, and the SF Bay Guardian called him "a good fighter, totally game, relying heavily on reach and power".
He opened 3rd St Boxing Gym in 2003, then Polk St in 2007, then Hit Fit SF in the Mission in 2014, all with the same goal: bringing fitness through boxing to the community. He still co-leads the 6am boot camps. A member put it plainly in a review: individually owned and owner-operated, and it really shows.
“Bringing fitness through boxing to the community.”
